Hunter is a Jack Russell Terrier, and has undergone more than 600 hours of training demonstrating his ability and accuracy in detecting termites. Hunter can detect termites in places that no human could go; behind walls, under floors, beneath the soil, and in otherwise inaccessible areas of residential and commercial buildings.

Master dog trainer Bill Whitstine has trained dogs that are used for drug-sniffing and arson detection, as well as termite detection. Mr. Whitstine's arson dog has assisted law enforcement agencies in collecting evidence that has put hundreds of criminals behind bars. Like all of Mr. Whitstine's trainees, Hunter was rescued from a dog pound.
